Just Build a Wall
Let’s say you wake up in the middle of the night to the sound of a burst pipe in your house. Do you: A) Locate the source of the leaking pipe and shut off the water; or, B) Wonder what you are going to do about the water on the floor and the ruined furniture? Though the answer is obvious to you and me, it is presently eluding our Congress. Their refusal to consider an immigration bill that is not “comprehensive” in it’s scope is akin to letting the water flow while fretting about the floating furniture.
Right now the biggest concern is not those that are already here, it is those that will continue to come here illegally every day until our border is secured. Stop the flow first, then just enforce our existing laws and no further legislation is needed.
The Senate wants to impose monetary penalties against businesses that hire illegal aliens, but oddly enough wants to extend Social Security benefits to the illegals themselves. Is this the same Social Security system that the same government tells me, a 20 year contributor, that I am not likely ever to see a dime from?
Whose country is it?
Update: The Minutemen have stepped up to the plate. They have already contracted with several private land owners to build a fence on thier property and have a couple of construction companies donating time and equipment. And it will work, too- same design the Israelis have used in Gaza. Send them a few bucks if you can, or just check out the link, they are a pretty well run outfit.
